Memorial Day 2016

This Saturday, May 28th, Edgemere neighbors came together to beautify Beach Channel Drive by hanging American flags on various blocks, not just to commemorate Memorial Day, but also to bring added value and cohesiveness to the community. Nice touch, it is the small things that make a neighborhood a community.
You can have flags on your block as well, just reach out to your neighbors and see if they are willing to donate $10 per flag, a neighborhood team will hang them for you at no cost. They also will be weeding empty tree beds and planting flowers and bulbs where trees are absent.
Another project is to help maintain the grounds of St. Gertrude Church on Beach Channel Drive, the ground-keeper has fallen ill and the grounds have been left unkempt. If you are interested in assisting with any of these projects by donating your time or resources (bulbs, flowers) or would like to get involved in any way, they are requesting volunteers—especially with the yard work. Contact us and we will connect you.

Did you know? When a neighborhood is kept and united, there is less chance of burglaries, and crime decreases while property values increase.
